Filling the world with dead bodies

A Psalm of David.

¹ The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

² The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

³ Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

The Lord said to my Lord [1],

Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.

⁴ The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

God swears [2] and he won't repent [3], saying,

You're a priest forever, just like Melchizedek.

⁵ The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

He'll be at your right hand, killing kings on the day of his wrath.

⁶ He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

⁷ He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

He'll judge the heathen,

fill the world with dead bodies,

and wound the heads of many countries.

If this sounds confusing to you, you're not alone. Jesus didn't seem to understand it either. (See Mt 22:41-46 and Lk 20:41-44)

But somehow he seemed to think that it proved that Christ (Jesus?) wasn't the son of David. (Or something like that.)
The Lord hath sworn. (v.4a)
God swears. So I guess you can too.

Is it okay to swear?
The Lord ... will not repent. (v.4b)
Does God repent?
