A cloud at night and a fire during the day
40:34-38

34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

A cloud covered the tent and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:

37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.

When the cloud was over the tent, the people stayed where they were.

Whenever the cloud left, the people went on with their journey.

38For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

The cloud of the Lord stayed on the tabernacle during the day, with a fire on it at night. [1]

I'm presuming the Israelites only were able to journey at night? ..and this continued "throughout all their journeys." Apparently as well, the cloud and the fire are always within sight of the Israelites. We don't get clarification on this despite how bizarre it is, though we are given numerous verses explaining in great detail every nook and cranny of the tabernacle, ark, altar, and everything else Moses and/or Bezaleel created. TWICE!

I'm happy my exodus out of this particular book of the Bible has finally come to an end.
