1 8 Listen to the advice of your mother and father.
20 Wisdom cries out, saying,
26 I will laugh at you when disaster strikes, and mock you when you are afraid and in anguish.
28 Then you'll ask me for help, but I won't answer. You'll seek me but won't find me.
33 But whoever obeys me will be safe and fear no evil.
2 2 Seek wisdom and understanding.
3 If you search for knowledge, you will find God.
7 God makes righteous people wise.
16-18 But beware of strange women. They'll kill you.
20 Hang out with good and righteous men instead.
3 1-2 If you keep the commandments, you'll have a long and peaceful life.
3 Be merciful and truthful.
5 Don't trust your own understanding.
7 Fear God and avoid evil.
8 It'll put health in your navel and marrow in your bones.
13 Wise people are happy.
27 Help your neighbor, if you can.
28 Don't wait until tomorrow if you can do it today.
29 Don't devise evil plans against your neighbor.
30 Don't fight for no reason.
31 Don't envy or imitate an oppressor.
32 God's secret is with righteous people.
33 God curses the houses of wicked people. But he blesses the houses of the just.
34 God scorns the scorners.
35 Wise people inherit glory.
4 5-7 Get wisdom and understanding.
14-15 Avoid evil.
18 The way of the just is like a shining light. The light gets brighter until the perfect day.
24 Speak plainly and honestly to others.
25 Look straight ahead.
26 Watch your step.
27 Don't turn to the right or the left.
5 5 Strange women have sweet lips and smooth mouths.
6 But they will lead you to hell.
18 Have fun with your wife.
19 Let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be ravished with her love.
20 But don't embrace the bosom of a strange woman.
6 12 Naughty, wicked people wink with their eyes,
13 speak with their feet and teach with their fingers.
14 They are always planning mischief.
16 There are six or seven things that God hates.
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that imagines wicked things, mischievous feet,
19 a false witness, and a person who divides people.
24 Stay away from evil, strange, whorish women.
25 Don't lust after them or be fooled by their eyelids.
7 1 Keep my word and commandments.
3 Bind them on your fingers.
4 Say to wisdom, "You are my sister."
Call understanding your female relative.
5 Stay away from the strange woman.
10 A harlot is loud and stubborn.
11 Her feet don't stay in her house.
12 She lies in wait at every corner.
13 She caught a man and kissed him.
16 She said to him, I have a nice bed,
17 perfumed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Let's have sex all night.
19 Because my husband isn't home.
He's gone on a long journey.
25 So stay away from strange women.
26-27 They'll kill you and send you to hell.
8 11 Wisdom is better than wealth. Nothing else compares with it.
9 5 Drink the wine that I have provided.
10 The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
13 A foolish woman is noisy and knows nothing.
14-15 She sits at the door of her house and calls to people as they pass by.
17 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
10 1 A wise son makes a happy father.
3 God never allows a righteous person to go hungry.
4 Only evil and lazy people don't have enough food to eat.
10 People who wink cause sorrow.
12 Hatred causes strife, but love covers all sins.
13 People without understanding should be beaten with a rod.
20 Just people have silver tongues.
21 The lips of righteous people feed many, but fools die because they lack wisdom
24 Righteous people get whatever they want.
25 When wicked people die they cease to exist.
27 People who fear God live longer than wicked people.
32 Righteous people's lips know what's acceptable.
11 2 Shame follows an excess of pride.
8 Righteous people never get into trouble.
17 Kind people are happier than cruel people.
21 The children of the righteous will not be punished.
22 An attractive but foolish woman is like a jewel in a pig's snout.
25 Liberals will be made fat.
29 Those who trouble their own family will inherit the wind.
