Episode 108: Joseph Smith is a descendant of Jesus (112-116)
Doctrine and Covenants
Section 112
Revelation given through Joseph Smith to Thomas B. Marsh, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, at Kirtland, Ohio, July 23, 1837
Gird up your loins, Thomas, and put on your shoes
1 I've heard your prayers, Thomas. 2 There are some things about you that I don't like. 3 But since you've abased yourself, I've forgiven your sins. 4 So be happy, and go preach everywhere on earth to the Gentiles, and also to the Jews. 7-14 Gird up your loins, put on your shoes, pick up your cross, follow me, and feed my sheep.
15 Don't rebel against Joseph Smith. I'm with him, and he'll have my keys until I come. 16 But I've given you the keys to the kingdom of the Twelve. 17 You'll be the one to unlock the kingdom's doors, where not even Joseph, Sidney, and Hyrum can come. 18 Because I've given them the churches for a little while. 1919 So go wherever they send you. Wherever you go an effectual door will open.
20 Whoever receives me received the First Presidency. 21 Whoever sends in my name through the Twelve will have the power to open the door of my kingdom. 22 As long as they humble themselves before me.
23 The earth is covered in darkness, and all flesh looks corrupt to me. 24 Vengeance will come soon to everyone on earth - a day of wrath, burning, weeping, mourning, and a whirlwind everywhere on earth. 26 First will be those in my house that have blasphemed against me. 29 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, and whoever doesn't believe and isn't baptized will be damned. 33 Clean your garments, or the blood of this generation will be required at your hands. 34 I come quickly. Amen.

Section 115
Revelation given through Joseph Smith at Far West, Missouri, April 26, 1838
I'm naming my church "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"
3 My church will be called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 4 Because that’s what it'll be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Build me a house in the holy city of Far West
7 Far West is a holy city on holy land. 8 I command you to build me a house in Far West. 9 Start work this summer, on the fourth of July. 12 Work on it until it's finished. 13 And don't let Joseph [Smith], Sidney [Rigdon], or Hyrum [Smith] get into debt building my house. 15 If you don't build it the way I tell you to build it, I won't accept it. 17 Hurry and build the city of Far West. 18 I'll tell Joseph [Smith] where to build stakes around here from time to time. 19 I’ll be with him, because I've given him the keys of this kingdom to him. Amen.
