2401. I, the Lord, render unto Caesar the things which are Caear's. 63:26
2402. I, the Lord, am angry with the wicked; I am holding my Spirit from the inhabitants of the earth. 63:32
2403. In my wrath, and decreed wars upon the face of the earth, and the wicked shall slay the wicked. 63:33
2404. The saints also shall hardly escape; nevertheless, I, the Lord, am with them, and will come down in heaven from the presence of my Father and consume the wicked with unquenchable fire ... this is not yet, but by and by. 63:34-35
2405. I will that my saints should be assembled upon the land of Zion; And that every man should take righteousness in his hands and faithfulness upon his loins. 63:36-37
2406. Let my servant Newel K. Whitney retain his store, or in other words, the store, yet for a little season. 63:42
2407. There will be foolish virgins among the wise; and at that hour cometh an entire separation of the righteous and the wicked; and in that day will I send mine angels to pluck out the wicked and cast them into unquenchable fire. 63:54

2415. I will not that my servant Frederick G. Williams should sell his farm, for I, the Lord, will to retain a strong hold in the land of Kirtland, for the space of five years. 64:21
2416. Now it is called today until the coming of the Son of Man, and verily it is a day of sacrifice, and a day for the tithing of my people; for he that is tithed shall not be burned at his coming. 64:23
2417. After today cometh the burning - this is speaking after the manner of the Lord - for verily I say, tomorrow all the proud and they that do wickedly shall be as stubble; and I will burn them up, for I am the Lord of Hosts; and I will not spare any that remain in Babylon. 64:24
2418. Wherefore, if ye believe me, ye will labor while it is called today. 64:25
2419. It is not meet that my servants, Newel K. Whitney and Sidney Gilbert, should sell their store and their possessions here ... until the residue of the church, which remaineth in this place, shall go up unto the land of Zion. 64:26
2420. It is said in my laws, or forbidden, to get in debt to thine enemies. 64:27
2421. It is not said at any time that the Lord should not take when he please, and pay as seemeth him good. 64:28
2422. The rebellious shall be cut off out of the land of Zion. 64:35
2423. The rebellious are not of the blood of Ephraim, wherefore they shall be plucked out. 64:36
2424. I, the Lord, have made my church in these last days like unto a judge sitting on a hill, or in a high place, to judge the nations. 64:37
2425. T he nations of the earth shall tremble because of her, and shall fear because of her terrible ones. The Lord hath spoken it. Amen. 64:43

2438. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believeth not shall be damned. 68:9
2439. If they be literal descendants of Aaron they have a legal right to the bishopric, if they are the firstborn among the sons of Aaron. 68:16
2440. Children shall be baptized for the remission of their sins when eight years old. 68:27
2441. I, the Lord, am not well pleased with the inhabitants of Zion, for there are idlers among them; and their children are also growing up in wickedness. 68:31
2442. I come quickly. Amen. 68:35
2443. In your temporal things you shall be equal. 70:14
2444. Confound your enemies; call upon them to meet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their shame shall be made manifest. 70:7
2445. No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper. 9

2449. in whatsoever house ye enter, and they receive you not, ye shall depart speedily from that house, and shake off the dust of your feet as a testimony against them. 20
2450. You shall be filled with joy and gladness; and know this, that in the day of judgment you shall be judges of that house, and condemn them. 21

2467. These are they who shall not be redeemed from the devil until ... Christ the Lamb, shall have finished his work. 85

2470. These are they who are liars, and sorcerers, and adulterers, and whoremongers. 103
2471. These are they who suffer the wrath of God on earth. 104

2473. These are they who are cast down to hell and suffer the wrath of Almighty God, until ... Christ shall have subdued all enemies under his feet. 106
2474. I have overcome and have trodden the wine-press alone, even the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God. 107
2475. The inhabitants of the telestial world, that they were as innumerable as the stars in the firmament of heaven, or as the sand upon the seashore. 109
2476. This is the end of the vision which we saw, which we were commanded to write while we were yet in the Spirit. 113
2477. He commanded us we should not write while we were yet in the Spirit, and are not lawful for man to utter. 115

2479. This earth during the seven thousand years of its continuance, or its temporal existence. 6
2480. That you may be equal in the bonds of heavenly things, yea, and earthly things also ... For if ye are not equal in earthly things ye cannot be equal in obtaining heavenly things. 5-6
2481. If you will that I give unto you a place in the celestial world, you must prepare yourselves by doing the things which I have commanded you. 7
2482. The church may stand independent above all other creatures beneath the celestial world. 14
2483. You may come up unto the crown prepared for you, and be made rulers over many kingdoms, saith the Lord ... who hath established the foundations of Adam-ondi-Ahman. 15
2484. Who hath appointed Michael your prince, and established his feet, and set him upon high, and given unto him the keys of salvation. 16
2485. Do the things which I have commanded you, saith your Redeemer, even the Son Ahman. 20
2486. Ye are the church of the Firstborn, and he will take you up in a cloud. 21
2487. He that is a faithful and wise steward shall inherit call things. Amen. 22
2488. Behold, and lo, these are the words ... Jesus Christ. Amen.7
2489. I, the Lord, will not lay any sin to your charge; go your ways and sin no more; but unto that soul who sinneth shall the former sins return. 7
2490. You are to be equal ... every man according to his wants and his needs, inasmuch as his wants are just. 17
2491. This order I have appointed to be an everlasting border unto you, and unto your successors. 20
2492. The soul that sins against this covenant ... shall be delivered over to the buffetings of Satan. 21 this is wisdom, make unto yourselves friends with the mammon of unrighteousness ... Amen. 22-24 Section 84
2493. The word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days ... for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of New Jerusalem. Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun. 2-3
2494. The city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation. 4
2495. This generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it. 5
2496. Esaias also lived in the days of Abraham. 13
2497. Without this [priesthood] no man can see the face of God, even the Father, and live. 22
2498. John ... being filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother's womb ... was baptized while he was yet in his childhood, and was ordained by the angel of God at the time he was eight days old. 27-28
2499. They shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon. 57

These signs shall follow them that believe ... they shall cast out devils ... heal the sick ... open the eyes of the blind, and unstop the ears of the deaf ... the tongue of the dumb shall speak ... poison ... shall not hurt them ... And ... the poison of a serpent shall not have power to harm them. 65-72
2501. They who believe not on your words, and are not baptized in water in my name ... shall be damned. 74
2502. They are to be upbraided for their evil hearts of unbelief. 76
2503. Any man that shall go and preach ... shall not go hungry, neither thirst. 80
2504. take ye no thought for the morrow, for what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, or wherewithal ye shall be clothed. 81
2505. Let the morrow take thought for the things of itself. 84
2506. Whoso receiveth you ... will feed you, and clothe you, and give you money. 89
2507. He that receiveth you not, go away from him alone by yourselves, and cleanse your feet even with water, pure water, whether in heat or in cold. 92
2508. Wo ... unto that house, or that village or city that rejecteth you ... plagues shall go forth. 95-97
2509. Those who have not families, who receive money, send it up unto the bishop in Zion, or unto the bishop in Ohio. 104
2510. Let not the head say unto the feet it hath no need of the feet. 109
2511. Bishop, Newel K. Whitney ... should travel round about .. searching after the poor to administer to their wants by humbling the rich. 112
2512. ,llet the bishop go unto ... New York, ... Albany, and ... Boston, and warn the people ... of the desolation and utter abolishment which await them if they do reject these things. 114
2513. The rest of my servants, go ye forth ... setting forth clearly and understandingly the desolation of abomination in the last days.. 117
2514. I will rend their kingdoms; I will not only shake the earth, but the starry heavens shall tremble. 118
2515. Ye cannot see it now, yet a little while and ye shall see it ... Amen. 119-120
2516. I, the Lord God, will send one mighty and strong, holding the scepter of power in his hand, clothed with light for a covering, whose mouth shall utter words, eternal words; while his bowels shall be a fountain of truth, to set in order the house of God. 7
2517. That man, who was called of God and appointed, that putteth forth his hand to steady the bark of God, shall fall by the shaft of death, like as a tree that is smitten by the vivid shaft of lightning. 8
2518. they who are not found written in the book of remembrance shall find none inheritance in that day, but they shall be cut asunder, and their portion shall be appointed them among unbelievers, where are wailing and gnashing of teeth. 9
2519. The apostate, the whore, even Babylon, that maketh all nations to drink of her cup.... 3
2520. Thus saith the Lord concerning the wars that will shortly come to pass, beginning at the rebellion of South Carolina, which will eventually terminate in the death and misery of many souls. 1
2521. The time will come that war will be poured out upon all nations, beginning at this place. 2
2522. The Southern States shall be divided against the Northern States, and the Southern States will call on other nations, even the nation of Great Britain, as it is called, and they shall also call upon other nations, in order to defend themselves against other nations; and then war shall be poured out upon all nations. 3
2523. The remnants who are left of the land will marshal themselves, and shall become exceedingly angry, and shall vex the Gentiles with a sore vexation. 5
2524. Famine, and plague, and earthquake, and the thunder of heaven, and the fierce and vivid lightning also, shall the inhabitants of the earth be made to feel the wrath, and indignation, and chastening hand of an Almighty God, until the consumption decreed hath made a full end of all nations 6
2525. That the cry of the saints, and of the blood of the saints, shall cease to come up into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, from the earth, to be avenged of their enemies. 7
2526. Stand ye in holy places, and be not moved, until the day of the Lord come; for behold, it cometh quickly, saith the Lord. Amen. 8
2527. The alms of your prayers have come up into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, and are recorded in the book ... of the celestial world. 2
2528. I now send upon you another Comforter ... even the Holy Spirit. 3
2529. This Comforter is the promise ... of the celestial kingdom, which glory is that of the church of the Firstborn. 4-5
2530. He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all things. 6
2531. As also he [the Holy Spirit] is in the sun ... moon ... stars ... and earth. 7-10
2532. The spirit and the body are the soul of man. 15
2533. They who are not sanctified through the law ... must inherit another kingdom, even that of a terrestrial kingdom, or that of a telestial kingdom. 21
2534. He who is not able to abide the law of a celestial kingdom cannot abide a celestial glory. 22
2535. He who cannot abide the law of a terrestrial kingdom cannot abide a terrestrial glory. 23
2536. He who cannot abide the law of a telestial kingdom cannot abide a telestial glory. 24
2537. The earth abideth the law of a celestial kingdom ... notwithstanding it shall die, it shall be quickened again, and shall abide the power by which it is quickened, and the righteous shall inherit it. 25-26
2538. They who are of a celestial spirit shall receive the same body. 28
2539. He who are quickened by a portion of the celestial glory shall then receive of the same. 29
2540. They who are quickened by a portion of the terrestrial glory shall then receive of the same. 30
2541. They who are quickened by a portion of the telestial glory shall then receive of the same. 31
2542. They who remain shall also be quickened; nevertheless, they shall return again to their own place, to enjoy that which they are willing to receive. 32
2543. That which breaketh a law ... and altogether abideth in sin ... must remain filthy still. 35
2544. There is no space in the which there is no kingdom; and there is no kingdom in which t here is no space. 37
2545. In their minutes, in their hours, in their days, in their weeks, in their months, in their years - all these are one year with God. 44
2546. Whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name it shall be given unto you. 64
2547. Cast away your idle thoughts and your excess of laughter. 69
2548. I give unto you ... a commandment that you ... cleanse your hands and your feet ... that you are clean from the blood of this wicked generation 74-75
2549. The wrath of God, the desolation of abomination which awaits the wicked, both in this world and in the world to come. 85
2550. Let your hands be clean, until the Lord comes. 86

For not many days hence and the earth shall tremble and reel to and fro as a drunken man; and the sun shall hide his face, and shall refuse to give light; and the moon shall be bathed in blood; and the stars shall become exceedingly angry, and shall cast themselves down as a fig that falleth from off a fig tree. 87
2552. After your testimony cometh the testimony of earthquakes, that shall cause groanings in the midst of her, and men shall fall upon the ground and shall not be able to stand. 88
2553. And also cometh the testimony of the voice of thunderings, and the voice of lightnings, and the voice of tempests, and the voice of the waves. 89
2554. Men's hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people. 91
2555. angels shall fly through the midst of heaven, crying with a loud voice, sounding the trump of God, saying ... the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 92
2556. There shall appear a great sign in heaven, and all people shall see it. 93
2557. another angel shall sound his trump, saying: That great church, the mother of abominations, that made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, that persecuteth the saints of God, that shed their blood - she who sitteth upon many waters, and upon the islands of the sea ... she is ready to be burned. And he shall sound his trump both long and loud, and all nations shall hear it. 94
2558. there shall be silence in heaven for the space of half an hour; and immediately after shall the curtain of heaven be unfolded, as a scroll is unfolded after it is rolled up, and the face of the Lord shall be unveiled. 95
2559. The saints that are upon the earth, who are alive, shall be quickened and be caught up to meet him. 96
2560. They who have slept in their graves shall come forth, for their graves shall be opened; and they also shall be caught up to meet him. 97
2561. another trump shall sound, which is the fourth trump, saying: There are found among those who are to remain until that great and last day, even the end, who shall remain filthy still. 102
2562. Another angel shall sound his trump, which is the sixth angel, saying: She is fallen who made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication; she is fallen, is fallen! 105
2563. Another angel shall sound his trump, which is the seventh angel, saying: It is finished; it is finished! The Lamb of God hath overcome and trodden the wine-press alone, even the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God. 106
2564. then shall the first angel again sound his trump in the ears of all living, and reveal the secret acts of men, and the mighty works of God in the first thousand years. 108
2565. then shall the second angel sound his trump, and reveal the secret acts of men, and the thoughts and intents of their hearts, and the mighty works of God in the second thousand years. 109
2566. And so on, until the seventh angel shall sound his trump ... and Satan shall be bound, that old serpent, who is called the devil, and shall not be loosed for the space of a thousand years. 110
2567. Then he shall be loosed for a little season, that he may gather together his armies. 111
2568. Michael, the seventh angel, even the archangel, shall gather together his armies, even the hosts of heaven. 112
2569. The hosts of hell, and shall come up to battle against Michael and his armies. 113
2570. The devil and his armies shall be cast away into their own place, that they shall not have power over the saints any more. 114
2571. Cease from all your light speeches, from all laughter, from all your lustful desires, from all your pride and light-mindedness, and from all your wicked doings. 121
2572. Cease to be idle; cease to be unclean ...retire to thy bed early ... arise early. 124
2573. Pray always, that ye may not faint, until I come. Behold, and lo, I will come quickly ... Amen. 125
2574. A Word of Wisdom, for ... the saints ... showing forth the order and will of God ... in the last days. 1-2
2575. Inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments. 5
2576. Strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies. 7
2577. Tobacco is not for the body, neither for the belly. 8
2578. Hot drinks are not for the body or belly. 9
2579. All wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man. 10
2580. All saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones. 18
2581. And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures. 19
2582. And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint. 20
2583. I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen. 21
2584. The keys of this kingdom shall never be taken from you [Joseph Smith], while thou art in the world, neither in the world to come. 3
2585. Let there be a place provided, as soon as it is possible, for the family of thy counselor and scribe, even Frederick G. Williams. 19
2586. Let your families be small. 25
2587. I, the Lord, will contend with Zion ... until she overcomes and is clean. 36
2588. Thus saith the Lord unto you concerning the Apocrypha ... it is not needful that the Apocrypha should be translated. 1-3
2589. Every man whose spirit receiveth not the light is under condemnation. 32
2590. Man is the tabernacle of God, even temples; and whatsoever temple is defiled, God shall destroy that temple. 35
2591. Now a commandment I give unto you - if you will be delivered you shall set in order your own house. 43
2592. Joseph Smith, Jun. - You have not kept the commandments, and must needs stand rebuked before the Lord. 47
2593. Your family must needs repent and forsake some things, and give more earnest heed unto your sayings, or be removed out of their place. 48

2595. Newel K. Whitney also, a bishop of my church, hath need to be chastened, and set in order his family, and see that they are more diligent and concerned at home, and pray always, or they shall be removed out of their place. 50

2597. Hasten to translate my scriptures ... Amen. 53
2598. Ye shall not suffer any unclean thing to come in unto it; and my glory shall be there, and my presence shall be there. 8
2599. If there shall come into it any unclean thing, my glory shall not be there; and my presence shall not come into it. 9
2600. The second lot on the south shall be dedicated unto me for the building of a house unto me, for the work of the printing of the translation of my scriptures. 10
2601. And now I give unto you no more at this time. Amen. 17
2602. Ye must needs be chastened ... for ye have sinned against me a very grievous sin, in that ye have not considered the great commandment ... the building of mine house. 2-3
2603. Prune my vineyard for the last time, that I may bring to pass my strange act, that I may pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. 4
2604. I gave unto you a commandment that you should build a house. 8
2605. Contentions arose in the school of the prophets. 10
2606. You should build a house. If you keep my commandments you shall have power to build it. 11
2607. Here is wisdom, and the mind of the Lord ... let it be built after the manner which I shall show unto three of you, whom ye shall appoint and ordain unto this power ... the size thereof shall be fifty and five feet in width, and let it be sixty-five feet in length. 13-15
2608. Son Ahman; or, in other words, Alphus; or, in other words, Omegus; even Jesus Christ your Lord. Amen. 17
2609. Here is wisdom ... this stake ... should be made strong. 1
2610. Let ... Newel K. Whitney take charge of the place which is named among you, upon which I design to build mine holy house. 2
2611. It is wisdom ... that ... John Johnson ... become a member of the order. 6-8
2612. Therefore ye shall ordain him ... Amen. 9
2613. I, the Lord, am well pleased that there should be a school in Zion, and also with my servant Parley P. Pratt. 3
2614. Tt is my will that a house should be built unto me in the land of Zion ... by the tithing of my people. 10-11
2615. Inasmuch as my people build a house unto me in the name of the Lord, and do not suffer any unclean thing to come into it ... my glory shall rest upon it. 15
2616. But if it be defiled I will not come into it, and my glory shall not be there. 17
2617. If Zion do these things she shall prosper, and spread herself and become very glorious, very great, and very terrible. 18
2618. And the nations of the earth shall honor her, and shall say: Surely Zion is the city of our God. 19
2619. Vengeance cometh speedily upon the ungodly. 22
2620. The Lord's scourge ... shall vex all people; yea, it shall not be stayed until the Lord come. 23
2621. Zion shall escape if she observe to do all things whatsoever I have commanded her. But if she observe not to do whatsoever I have commanded her, I will visit her ... with sore affliction, with pestilence, with plague, with sword, with vengeance, with devouring fire. 25-26
2622. Read this once to her ears ... Amen. 27-28
