Don't love non-Muslims -- even if they are your children.

Thou wilt not find folk who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His messenger, even though they be their fathers or their sons or their brethren. 58:22

Don't let your children distract you from Allah. If you do, you're a loser.

O ye who believe! Let not ... your children distract you from remembrance of Allah. Those who do so, they are the losers. 63:9

Your children are your enemies. They are only a temptation.

O ye who believe! Lo! among your wives and your children there are enemies for you, therefor beware of them. ... Your children are only a temptation. 64:14-15
