20 1 I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a large chain in his hand.
2-3 He grabbed the dragon, that old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, locked him up for a thousand years, and threw him into the bottomless pit, where he'll remain until the thousand years are over. After that, he'll be set free for a while.
4 I saw thrones with people sitting on them who were beheaded for Jesus, and who didn't worship the beast, or receive his mark on their foreheads or hands. They lived and reigned with Christ for 1000 years.
5 But the rest of the dead people stayed dead until the 1000 years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
7 When the 1000 years are over, Satan will be released from prison.
8 And Satan will deceive the nations, while Gog and Magog gather a huge army, with more soldiers than there are sand on the sea shore.
9 But God will burn them all with fire from heaven.
10 The devil will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet are, and they'll be tormented day and night forever.
12 I saw all the dead people being judged by God according to their works.
13 The sea, death, and hell gave up their dead, who were then judged according to their works.
14 Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whoever wasn't found in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
21 1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth, and there was no more sea.
2 And I saw a holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from heaven, like a bride adorned for her husband.
5 He who sat on the throne said, "I'm making everything new."
Then he said to me, "Write: these words are true and faithful."
6 It's done. I'm alpha and omega.
8 Those who are afraid, don't believe, or are abominable will be burned in the lake with fire and brimstone, along with murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, or liars It's the second death.
9 One of the seven angels with the seven vials said to me,
Come here. I'll show you the bride, the lamb's wife.
10 He carried me away in the spirit to the top of a high mountain and showed me holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God.
16 He measured the city with a reed. It was cube-shaped, 12,000 furlongs on each side.
23 It didn't need the sun or the moon because it was lit by God's glory and the lamb.
24 Saved nations will walk in the light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory to it.
25 The gates of the city will never close, and there will be no night there.
27 No one who lies, defiles, or works abomination will be allowed in the city.
Only those who are in the lamb's book of life will live there.
22 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
5 They won't need the sun in the daytime or candles at night because there won't be any night and God will give them light.
6 The angel said to me,
It's all true.
7 These things will happen soon. I'll come quickly.
Blessed are those who believe the prophecy in this book.
10 Don't keep this prophecy secret. The time for these things to happen is now.
11 Let unjust people stay unjust, filthy people stay filthy, just people stay just, and holy people stay holy.
12 I'll come quickly, and judge everyone according to their works.
13 I'm the alpha and omega, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are those who do the commandments.
15 Outside of this city are dogs, sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, idolaters, and liars.
16 I, Jesus, sent my angel to tell you these things in the churches.
17 I'm the root and offspring of David, the bright and morning star.
19 If anyone adds anything to this book, God will give him the plagues that are mentioned in this book.
20The one who says these things, says, "I'll surely come quickly."
Amen. Come, Jesus, come.
21 Amen
