13 3 God is angry, so he called all his sanctified and mighty ones to destroy the earth. 6 God's day is here, so everyone should howl. He will destroy everything. 7 Everyone will be weak, and their hearts will melt. 8 They will be afraid and in pain, like a woman in childbirth. Their faces will be on fire. 9 God's cruel day is coming. He'll kill all the sinners. 10 The sun, moon, and stars will no longer produce light. 13 God will shake the heavens and move the earth out of its place. 15 Everyone who is found will be killed with a sword (along with whoever they are joined to). 16 Their children will be dashed together while they watch, and their wives will be raped. 17-18 God will force the Medes to dash the young men to pieces, and they won't have pity on children, infants, or babies. 19 God will do to Babylon what he did to Sodom and Gomorrah. And it will never be inhabited again. 21 He'll kill all its people, but leave the satyrs, who will dance there. 22 And dragons will lounge in their pleasant palaces.
14 1 God will again choose Israel as his favorite people. 2 The Israelites will enslave those who had previously enslaved them. 21 The children will be slaughtered for what their ancestors did. 22 God will kill everyone in Babylon. 25 He will trample the Assyrians under his foot. 29 Out of the serpent's root will come a cockatrice, and from the cockatrice's fruit, a fiery flying serpent.
15 2 Moab will howl. All their heads will be bald, and all their beards will be cut off. 3 They will gird themselves with sackcloth, and everyone will weep and howl. 9 The rivers of Dimon will be full of blood, because God will bring lions to eat those who escape from Moab.
16 7 Moab will howl for Moab. Everyone will howl. 11 Therefore, my bowels will sound like a harp for Moab. 14 Moab will be destroyed, along with most of its people.
17 1 Damascus will become a ruinous heap.
18 1 Woe to Ethiopia, the land of shadowing wings. 6 God will feed them to the birds and beasts. The birds will feast on them in the summer, and the beasts in the winter.
19 1 God will travel to Egypt on a swift cloud, and the heart of Egypt will melt. 2-4 When he arrives, he'll force the Egyptians to fight each other and give them to a cruel lord and fierce king, who will rule over them.
5 The Nile River will dry up. 8 The fish will die. 14 God will send them a perverse spirit, making them like drunken men who fall in their own vomit. 16 Egypt will be like a woman, who shakes with fear as God shakes his hand over it. 22 He will smite and then heal Egypt. And they will return to him.
20 1 God said to Isaiah, "Take off the sackcloth from your loins, and your shoes from your feet."
2 So Isaiah did that, walking naked and barefoot.
3 God said,
Isaiah walked naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and a wonder.
4 So will the king of Assyria lead Egyptian and Ethiopian prisoners naked and barefoot (with their buttocks uncovered).
21 3 My loins are filled with pain, like a woman in childbirth. I was dismayed at the sight of it.
22 12 On that day, God told you to weep, pull your hair out, and put on sackcloth. 13 But instead you celebrated by eating and drinking, saying,
Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
14 But I heard God say, "I'll never forgive them for this."
17-18 God will toss you like a ball, and you’ll die.
23 1 Howl, ye ships of Tarshish. 6 Howl, ye inhabitants of the isle. 15-17 At the end of 70 years, Tyre will sing like a harlot and God will visit her, and she’ll fornicate with all the kingdoms of the world. 18 But she won't receive payment for her services. That money will go to God's people to buy food and durable clothing.
At 2:45, Carole asked "What are Medes?" and I said they were people who lived in western Iraq. I should have said that they were people who lived in the northwestern part of modern Iran. (Wikipedia: Medes)
