Jesus blamed the scribes and Pharisees of his day for "all the blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar."

But the only Zechariah that was murdered in the Bible was the son of Jehoida, not Barachias.

There was a Zechariah who was the son of Barachiah (Zechariah 1:1). Apparently Jesus (or the author of Matthew) confused the two.

Jehoiada

And the spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada .... And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the lord. 2 Chronicles 24:20-21

Barachias

Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Matthew 23:35
