Proverbs: Interpretation

1. "The proverbs of Solomon"
   The book of Proverbs was written several centuries after Solomon supposedly lived. So it wasn't written by Solomon. It was forged by someone who claimed to be Solomon. 1:1, 10:1

2. Does hell exist? 10:25, 24:20

3. "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established."
   Donald Rumsfeld sent this verse to inspire the troops during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. 16:3

4. "Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted."
   Does God approve of slavery? 22:22-23

5. Is it okay to drink alcohol? 20:1, 23:20-21, 23:29-32, 31:6-7

6. Is it OK to gamble? 28:22

7. "Add thou not unto his words."
   Yet the New World Translation inserts the word "other" four times in Colossian 1:16-17 even though it is not in the original Greek. 30:6
