Exodus: Selected Verses

  1. I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders. - 3:20
  2. Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent. - 4:3
  3. If they will not believe also these two signs ... take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and ... the river shall become blood. - 4:9
  4. Who maketh the dumb, or deaf ... or the blind? have not I the LORD? - 4:11
  5. I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go. - 4:21
  6. If thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn. - 4:23

  8. Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh. - 6:1
  9. How then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips? - 6:12
  10. Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips. - 6:30
  11. The LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh. - 7:1
  12. I will harden Pharaoh's heart. - 7:3
  13. Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies. - 7:4
  14. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD. - 7:5
  15. Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. - 7:9
  16. Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. - 7:9
  17. The magicians of Egypt ... cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. - 7:12
  18. He hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them. - 7:13
  19. In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood. - 7:17
  20. The fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river. - 7:18
  21. And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. - 7:21
  22. And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments. - 7:22
  23. I will smite all thy borders with frogs. - 8:2
  24. Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt. - 8:5
  25. Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt. - 8:6
  26. And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt. - 8:7
  27. And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. - 8:17
  28. And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God. - 8:18-19
  29. If thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies. - 8:21
  30. The hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle ... there shall be a very grievous murrain. 9:3
  31. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him. - 10:1
  32. But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go. - 10:20
  33. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast. - 12:12
  34. At midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. - 12:29
  35. The LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast. - 13:15
  36. The LORD is a man of war. - 15:3
  37. I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. - 20:5
  38. If thou buy an Hebrew servant .... - 21:2
  39. If a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant .... - 21:7
  40. He that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. - 21:15
  41. He that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. - 21:17
  42. If a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and ... if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money. - 21:20-21
  43. If he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. - 22:3
  44. Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. - 22:18
  45. He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed. - Ex22.20:
  46. And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless. - 22:24
  47. Thou shalt not revile the gods. - 22:28
  48. Ye shall keep the sabbath ... every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death. - 31:14
  49. Whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. - 31:15
  50. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side ... and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour. - 32:27
  51. And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made. - 32:35
  52. And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. - 33:23
