1-2 A word of wisdom to the saints, declaring the order and will of God in the last days. 5 Don't drink wine or strong drinks. Except (maybe) when you offer up your sacraments. 6 But if you drink wine, make it from your own grapes. 7 Strong drinks aren't for the belly, but for washing your bodies. 8 Tobacco isn't for the body or the belly. 9 And hot drinks aren't for the body or belly. 10 And again, all wholesome herbs were made by God for human use.
18 All saints who obey these rules will be healthy in their navel and bone marrow. 19 They'll find wisdom, knowledge, and hidden treasures. 20 They'll run and walk without getting tired. 21 And I promise them that the destroying angel will pass them by and the people of Israel won't kill them. Amen.
Revelation given through Joseph Smith at Kirtland, Ohio, February 27, 1833.
1 I forgive your sins, because I heard (with my ears) your prayers the prayers of your friends. 2 So you are blessed forever, and I'm giving you the keys to the last kingdom. 3 The keys will never be taken from you, while you're alive or after you're dead.
4 You'll give the oracles to the church. 5 The church must be careful how they hold the oracles of God, or they'll be condemned.
6 I've also forgiven Sidney Rigdon and Frederick G. Williams. They will also have the keys of this last kingdom.
7 I've also given your administration the keys to the school of the prophets.
17 Find a home for Frederick G. Williams and his family. 20 Let Joseph Smith, Sr. continue to live with his family in their current residence. 21 And let Sidney Rigdon live where he is currently living (until the mouth of the Lord names another place).
25 Have small families.
28 Vienna Jaques will pay her expenses for the trip to Zion. 29 And she will give me [the Lord] whatever money is left over. She'll be rewarded in my own time. 30 She should go get an inheritance from the bishop. 31 Let her live in peace, so long as she isn't idle. 33 Don't bother me about this anymore.
35 I'm not pleased with William E. McLellin, Sidney Gilbert, the bishop, and many others. 36 But I will contend with Zion until she is clean. 37 In the meantime, she'll stay where she is. I, the Lord, have spoken it. Amen.
Revelation given through Joseph Smith at Kirtland, Ohio, March 9, 1833
1 This is what the Lord says about the Apocrypha. There are many true things in it, if it's translated correctly. 2 But there are many things in it that are false. 3 So it's not necessary to translate it. 6 Amen
Revelation given to Joseph Smith at Kirtland, Ohio, March 15, 1833
1 I, the Lord, give you the united order. Here's a revelation and commandment about Frederick G. Williams: Receive him into the order. What I say to one person, I say to everyone else. 2 Frederick G. Williams, you will be a lively member of this order. If you are faithful in keeping all former commandments, you'll be blessed forever. Amen.
Revelation given through Joseph Smith at Kirtland, Ohio, May 6, 1833
1 Verily, thus saith the Lord, everyone who stops sinning, calls my name, obeys my voice, and keeps my commandments will see my face and know that I exist. 21 In the beginning I was with the Father. I'm the firstborn. 23 You were also there in the beginning with Father. 29 Humans were with God from the beginning. Intelligence was not created, nor can it be.
32 Everyone that doesn't receive the light is condemned. 35 You are God's temple. If you defile that temple, God will destroy you.
40 I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth. 41 But you, Frederick G. Williams, continued under this condemnation. 42 You didn't teach your children light and truth. 43 Here's a commandment for you: Clean up your house.
44 Sidney Rigdon hasn't kept the commandments about his children.
47 Joseph Smith, Jr., you haven't kept the commandments and need to be rebuked before the Lord. 48 Your family needs to repent, and pay more attention to your sayings, or they'll be removed from their place.
49 I say the same thing to everyone.
50 Newel K. Whitney needed to be chastened. If his family isn't set in order, they'll be removed.
51 Let Sidney Rigdon go on his journey to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
52 Joseph Smith, Jr., and Frederick G. Williams won't be confounded in this world, or the next.
53 Hurry and translate my scriptures. Amen.
