Surah 113: The Daybreak (Al-Falaq)

The evil that Allah has created

113:1-3

¹ Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak

²From the evil of that which He created;

I seek refuge from the evil that Allah has created [1],

³From the evil of the darkness when it is intense,

and from the evil of darkness.

The evil of witchcraft

113:4-5

⁴And from the evil of malignant witchcraft,

⁵ And from the evil of the envier when he envieth.

And from the evil of malignant witchcraft.

Notes

From the evil of that which He created (v.2)
Allah is the creator of evil. We must try to avoid Allah's evil creations.

The verses in this surah and the next are often used by Muslims to protect against the evil eye.
