Why did Iblis say he was better than the one that Allah created out of clay?

And when he knoweth aught of Our revelations he maketh it a jest. For such there is a shameful doom. 45:9

I [Iblis] am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay. 38:76
