Bhagavad Gita : Absurdity (130)

  1. When the armies assembled, many conchs, drums, and cow horns blared loudly. Krishna and Arunja arrived in a chariot pulled by white horses and blew their conchs. Many others also blew conchs, filling the earth and sky with sound. 1:12-19
  2. When Arjuna saw the assembled armies, he said, "O Krishna, My limbs fail, my body quivers, and my hair stands on end. My skin burns and my mind is whirling." 1:26-30
  3. The wise don't grieve for the living or the dead. Because dead people still exist after they die. 2:11-12
  4. People pass from one body to another after they die. So death is nothing to grieve about. 2:13
  5. A person who is not tormented by death, and balances pain and pleasure lives forever. 2:15
  6. No one ever kills anyone, and no one is ever killed. 2:19
  7. No one is born and no one dies. And no one dies when the body is slaughtered. 2:20
  8. It's like replacing worn out clothes with new clothes. Worn out bodies are replaced with new ones. 2:22
  9. So don't grieve. 2:26
  10. Everyone dies, but dead people are born again. 2:27
  11. The self that exists in everyone's body can never be killed. So don't grieve for any creature. 2:30
  12. Kshattriyas (members of the warrior caste) in battle should be happy. It's an open gate to heaven for them. 2:31
  13. If you don't fight in this righteous battle, you will forsake your duty and honor, and will be guilty of sin. 2:33
  14. Your enemies will say bad things about you. What can be more painful than that? 2:36
  15. If you are killed, you'll go to heaven; if you win, you'll enjoy the earth. So get up and fight with determination. 2:37
  16. Engage in battle. Buy so doing you will not sin. 2:38
  17. Those who are wise reject both good and evil. 2:50
  18. Nourish the Shining Ones and let the Shining Ones nourish you. That way you'll achieve the greatest good. 3:11
  19. The righteous, who eat the remains of sacrifice, are free from sins. But the impious dress food for their own sakes and eat sin. 3:13
  20. Those who complain about my teaching and fail to follow it are fools who will be destroyed. 3:32
  21. Krishna said, "This is the yoga that I taught to Vivasvân, who taught it to Manu, who taught it to Ikshvâku. It was handed down to the king-sages, but it decayed over time. It's the same yoga that I'm teaching to you. It is the supreme secret." 4:1-3
  22. Though I [Krishna] have never been born, I am born through my own power. 4:6
  23. Whenever righteousness decays, I [Krishna] come forth. 4:7
  24. I am born from age to age to protect the good, destroy evil-doers, and establish righteousness. 4:8
  25. Many have entered into my [Krishna's] being. 4:10
  26. Those who long after success worship the Shining Ones. 4:12
  27. Those who are full of faith obtain wisdom, and will go swiftly to the supreme peace. But the ignorant, faithless, doubters go to destruction. There is no happiness for the doubting self. 4:39-40
  28. So smite your ignorance-born doubt witht the sword of wisdom and be established in yoga. 4:42
  29. Renounce all actions and rest in the nine-gated city. 5:13
  30. Wise men consider a Brâhmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog, and an outcaste of equal value. 5:18
  31. The self is the friend of the self and also it's enemy. 6:5
  32. You should regard equally lovers, friends, enemies, strangers, relatives, righteous and unrighteous people. 6:9
  33. The Yogî should sit in a seat that is made of cloth, black antelope skin, and kusha grass, one over the other. And it shouldn't be too high or too low. 6:10-11
  34. Yogîs who abide in me [Krishna] and adore me are the most completely harmonized. 6:47
  35. Let your mind cling to me [Krishna], while you perform yoga. I'm going to tell you everything you need to know. 7:1-2
  36. I [Krishna] am composed of earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, reason, and egoism. 7:4
  37. I [Krishna] am the womb of all beings, the source of the universe and its destruction. 7:6
  38. Nothing is higher than me. And everything is threaded on me like pearls on a string. 7:7
  39. I [Krishna] am what makes water taste good. I'm the radiance of the moon and sun. 7:8
  40. I [Krishna] am the sound in the ether. 7:8
  41. I [Krishna] am the virility in men. 7:8
  42. I [Krishna] am the smell of the earth and the brightness of fire. I'm the life in all living things and the austerity in ascetics. 7:9
  43. This divine illusion of mine is hard to pierce. 7:14
  44. Krishna said, "If you think about me at the time of your death, you'll enter into my being." 8:3-5
  45. Whatever a person is thinking about at the time of death, that is where the soul of that person goes after death. 8:6
  46. Those who recite "Aum!" while thinking about me are on the highest path. 8:13
  47. They who think about me, and never about anyone else, are harmonized Yogîs. 8:14
  48. Those who disregard me [Krishna] are empty of hope, deeds, and wisdom. They are deceitful, brutal and demoniacal in nature. 9:11-12
  49. I [Krishna] am the butter, the fire, and the burnt-offering. 9:16
  50. I [Krishna] am the father, mother, husband, and lover of the universe. 9:17
  51. Those who know the three Soma-drinkers who worship me [Krishna] ascend to the holy world of the Ruler of the Shining Ones and eat the divine feasts in heaven. They once enjoyed the spacious heaven-world, but their holiness withered, so they have come back to this world of death. 9:20-21
  52. For those who worship me alone, I [Krishna] provide full security. 9:22
  53. I [Krishna] am the same to all beings. I don't hate or love any of them. But those who worship me are in me and I in them. 9:29
  54. Even the most sinful person, if they worship me [Krishna], are considered righteous. 9:30
  55. My [Krishna's] devotees never perish. 9:31
  56. Fix your mind on me [Krishna], be devoted to me, sacrifice to me, prostrate yourself before me, and have me as your supreme goal. 9:34
  57. Whoever knows me [Krishna], the unborn Lord of all the world, is without delusion and is liberated from all sin. 10:3
  58. Whoever knows my [Krishna's] yoga, is harmonized by unfaltering yoga, of which there is no doubt. 10:7
  59. Everything comes from me [Krishna], and wise people adore me with rapt emotion 10:8
  60. I [Krishna] give the yoga of discrimination to my ever-harmonious worshipers. 10:10
  61. Arjuna said, "You [Krishna] are the unborn, eternal divine man!" 10:12
  62. I [Krishna] am Vishnu, with the radiance of the sun. I am Marîchi of the Maruts. Of the stars, I am the moon. 10:21
  63. I [Krishna] am the Sâma-Veda among the Vedas, Vasava of the Shining Ones, the mind and intelligence of living beings. 10:22
  64. Ucchaihshrava (the horse) and Airâvata (the elephant) know me [Krishna]. 10:24
  65. I [Krishna] am the ocean. 10:24
  66. I [Krishna] am the one syllable. 10:25
  67. I [Krishna] am the Asvattha tree. 10:26
  68. I [Krishna] am a cow named Kâmadhuk. I am the serpent Vâsuki. 10:28
  69. I [Krishna] am the bird Vainateya. 10:30
  70. I [Krishna] am the warrior Rama and the fish Makara. 10:31
  71. I [Krishna] am the letter A. My face turns everywhere. 10:33
  72. I [Krishna] am all-devouring death. 10:34
  73. I [Krishna] am the origin of feminine qualities. 10:34
  74. I [Krishna] am the gambling of the cheat. 10:36
  75. Whatever is glorious, good, beautiful, or mighty is nothing compared to me [Krishna]. 10:41
  76. Arjuna said to Krishna, "I'd like to see what you look like, O Lord of Yoga." 11:1-3
  77. Krishna said, "Behold a form of me, or a hundred or a thousand of different kinds, in various shapes and colors." 11:5
  78. But you can't see me with your eyes, so I'll give you a divine eye to see my sovereign Yoga. 11:6
  79. Then Krishna (The great Lord of Yoga, aka Hari) showed himself to Arjuna. He had many mouths, eyes, ornaments, and weapons, wearing necklaces, with his face turned everywhere, with the spendor of a thousand suns. 11:9-12
  80. Reveal yourself. How awful-looking are you? I worship you, God supreme! 11:11
  81. Arjuna, overwhelmed with astonishment, his hair standing on end, said, "O God, I see the Gods, with mouths, eyes, and many breasts, innumerable arms, with a flaming face burning up the worlds, innumerable thighs and feet, big bosomed, with many fearful teeth, rainbow-colored, with opened mouths." 11:14-24
  82. All the kings and warriors of earth fall into your gaping mouth, caught between the gaps between your teeth, and are crushed into powder. Mighty men fling themselves into your flaming mouths, like moths flying into a flaming light. You lick up and swallow mankind with your fiery tongue. 11:26-30
  83. Arjuna said, "You [Krishna] are the greatest God, the first cause, greater than Brahmâ, infinite God of Gods, most ancient man, etc." 11:36-37
  84. Arjuna said, "I've seen what no one has seen before. Let me see you [Krishna] again." 11:45
  85. Arjuna said, "Put on your four-armed shape, O thousand-armed one." 11:46
  86. Krishna said, "You [Arjuna] are the first and only one who has ever seen me. 11:47
  87. Krishna said, "You [Arjuna] are the first and only one who has ever seen me. 11:47
  88. Krishna said, "My form is very hard to see. The Shining Ones always want to see this form. I can't be seen as you [Arjuna] have seen me by the Vedas, alms, or offerings. I can be seen only by devotion to me alone, and those who serve me and who make me their supreme good." 11:52-55
  89. Krishna said, "Those who worship me are, in my opinion, the best at yoga." 12:2
  90. I will save those who worship and meditate on me with whole-hearted yoga from death and existence. 12:6-7
  91. Those who renounce good and evil, and neither loves nor hate, are dear to me [Krishna]. 12:17
  92. Krishna said, "Those who know spirit and matter shall not be born again." 13:24
  93. Krishna said, "My womb is the great eternal. I put the germ in there, and out comes the birth of all beings. In whatever womb living beings are produced, I am their father." 14:1-4
  94. Krishna said, "The Asvattha (sacred fig tree), with its roots above and its branches below, is indestructible. If you know it, you're a Veda-knower. No one knows its form, end, origin, or rooting place." 15:1-3
  95. Krishna said, "I'm going to the Primal Man, where the sun and the moon don't shine, and from which you can never return." 15:4-6
  96. Krishna said, "The deluded don't perceive Him, but the wisdom-eyed people do. Yogîs also perceive him, but unintelligent people don't." 15:10-11
  97. Krishna said, "I am the splendor of the sun and the moon." 15:12
  98. Krishna said, "I also permeate the soil, nourishing all plants." 15:13
  99. Krishna said, "I digest the four kinds of foods." 15:14
  100. Krishna said, "I sit in everyone's heart. I'm the Veda-knower and the author of the Vedanta." 15:15
  101. Krishna said, "So I've told you, O sinless one [Arjuva], the secret teaching." 15:20
  102. Some people are born with with divine properties. And some are born with demoniac properties. 16:3-4
  103. There are two types of animals in this world: the divine and the demonical. 16:6
  104. Demonical men say, "The universe is without a God." 16:7-8
  105. These ruined souls of low understanding and fierce deeds are enemies who seek to destroy the world. 16:9
  106. They have insatiable desires, and are filled with vanity, conceit, and arrogance, with evil and delusional ideas. 16:10
  107. They only seek to gratify their desires, and their thoughts end in death. 16:11
  108. They are consumed by lust and anger. 16:12
  109. They fall downwards into a foul hell. 16:16
  110. Proud, stubborn, self-glorifying, and intoxicated with wealth, they show off their sacrifices, contrary to the laws of scripture. 16:17
  111. Through egoism, power, insolence, lust, and wrath, they hate me [Krishna] in bodies of others and their own. 16:17
  112. When these vile, evil, haters die, I cast them into demonical wombs, where they are deluded after birth, and sink into the lowest depths of hell. 16:19
  113. The three gates of hell are lust, wrath, and greed. Denounce all three. 16:21
  114. Let the scriptures determine what you should or should do. 16:24
  115. Those who kill people are not really killing people, if they are free from egoism and their reason is not affected. 17:0
  116. There are three kinds of people and three kinds of faith: Pure people worship the Gods, passionate people worship gnomes and giants, and the dark folk worship ghosts and nature spirits. 17:2-4
  117. A man's faith is what he is. 17:3
  118. Pure men worship the Gods; passionate men worship gnomes and giants; and the dark folk worship ghosts and nature spirits. 17:4
  119. There are three kinds of food. Pure people eat foods that provide energy, vigor, health, joy and cheerfulness. Such foods are delicious, bland, substantial and agreeable. Passionate people like foods that are bitter, sour, saline, over-hot, pungent, dry and burning and which produce pain, grief and sickness. Dark people eat foods that are stale, flat, putrid, corrupt, left-overs, and unclean. 17:7-10
  120. There are three kinds of food. 17:7

  122. Passionate people like foods that are bitter, sour, saline, over-hot, pungent, dry and burning and which produce pain, grief and sickness. 17:9

  125. If you think about me, you'll overcome all obstacles. If you don't, you'll be destroyed. 18:58
  126. Merge your mind with mine, be my devotee, sacrifice to me, and prostrate yourself to me. 18:65
  127. But if you tell this secret to my devotees, I [Krishna] will love you more than anyone else on earth. 18:66
  128. Don't speak about this to anyone who is without asceticism or devotion, or who doesn't want to listen, or who speaks badly of me. 18:67
  129. Sanjaya said, "This conversation has caused my hair to stand on end." 18:74
  130. Wherever Krishna, Yoga's Lord, and Arjuna, the archer, are, there is prosperity, victory, and happiness. So I think. 18:78
