They transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them. 5:25
Trivia: Why did God say that David couldn't build God's house?
The first nine chapters of First Chronicles are good examples of the "endless genealogies" that Paul tells us to avoid (see 1 Timothy 1:4 and Titus 3:9).
Wearisome as these chapters are, the rest of the book isn't much better. Consequently, First Chronicles is probably the most boring book in the Bible -- maybe the most boring book in all of literature.
First Chronicles covers the same material that is covered elsewhere in the Bible, adding a lot of contradictions while making it even more boring.
