0 What the Bhagavad Gita says about People

There are two kinds of people: divine and demoniac

Vigor, forgiveness, fortitude, purity, absence of envy and pride—these are his who is born with the divine properties. 16:3

Hypocrisy, arrogance and conceit, wrath and also harshness and unwisdom are his who is born ... with demoniacal properties. 16:4

There are three kinds of people: pure, passionate, and dark.

Threefold is by nature the inborn faith of the embodied—pure, passionate, and dark ... The man consists of his faith; that which his faith is, he is even that.17:2-3

There are four kinds of people: Brâhmanas (the priestly caste), Kshattriyas (the warrior caste), Vaishyas (merchant and farmer caste) and Shûdras (servant caste).

Brâhmanas, Kshattriyas, Vaishyas and Shûdras, O Parantapa, the duties have been distributed, according to the qualities born of their own natures.18:41
