God sent wasps to slowly kill people

In Exodus and Deuteronomy, God promised to send hornets to help the Israelites destroy their enemies.

And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee. Exodus 23:28

God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed. Deuteronomy 7:20

but there's no record of him actually doing it. Except for this verse, that is:

Thou ... didst send wasps ... to destroy them by little and little. Not that thou wast unable to bring the wicked under the just by war, or by cruel beasts, or with one rough word to destroy them at once. Wisdom 12:8-9

(Since the Book of Wisdom doesn't say how many people God killed with wasps, I'll just give it the usual 1000.)
