God made the stars to be signs for people to use.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons. Genesis 1:14

Stars influence the course of events on earth.

The stars in their courses fought against Sisera. Judges 5:20

God put a special star in the sky to mark the place where Jesus was born.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matthew 2:1-2

Jesus said we will know when the end of the world will come by looking for signs in the sun, moon, and stars.
