Has God ever tempted anyone?
God has never tempted anyone.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for
God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
James 1:13
Some people have been tempted by God.
God tempted Abraham to kill his son Isaac for a burnt offering.
God did tempt Abraham ... And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac ... and offer him there for a
burnt offering. Genesis 22:1
He (
or Satan) tempted David
to have a census.
And again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel,
and he moved David against them to say, Go number Israel and
Judah. 2 Samuel 24:1
And Jesus says we should pray that God will not tempt us. (Which wouldn't be necessary if God
never tempts anyone.)
And lead us not into temptation. Matthew 6:13, Luke 11:4
